Where to find and use Trading Posts

In Raft, players are tasked with adapting and surviving to their new life staying afloat on the sea as you begin to use your hook tool to salvage the wreckage items floating by.

Another way Raft players can find items, especially the more special items, is to find the islands scattered throughout the vast sea and explore them. Many things can be found on the islands such as food, building resources, Wildlife that can be quite hostile and if you look hard enough:

Trading Posts

Trading Posts are usually found on the larger islands in Raft on the higher ground and are quite hard to miss due to the vibrant light decorations on the post itself. As a result this should be quite hard to miss. Once found you will quickly realize the post is seemingly unmanned - however don’t get any weird ideas, you will still need to trade appropriately for wares.

In the Trading Post, you will find various wares, split into “Tiers”. But to navigate and purchase items you will need to understand the currencies and Reputation system that are required.

Once you open the Trading Post, you will find a Reputation progress bar. The further you progress in Reputation, you will unlock higher-tiered items to purchase.

The catch to the Trading Post system is that you need different levels of Bait to catch and sell Rare Fish to the Post:

Simple Fishing Bait - Tier 1 Fish

Advanced Fishing Bait - Tier 2 Fish

Expert Fishing Bait - Tier 3 Fish

Trading Post Bait Raft

Bait comes in stacks of four.

However to obtain the Bait you have to buy it from the Trading Post. This means that before you can raise your Reputation - you will need to obtain Trash Cubes.

are made via the Recycler once you have progressed the storyline and visited the Radio Tower.

Trade Coins however are collected by selling the caught Rare Fish to the Raft Trading Post. Tier 3 will as expected grant the most coins per sale with Tier 1 and 2 granting one Trade Coin per. The main difference between Tier 1 and 2 is the Reputation gained, the lowest being 10 Reputation and the highest being 100.
