Top 5 Beginner Tips for Raft

Raft is a survival game, released on May 23, 2018, grabbed the attention of gamers, and became one of the best survival games online. The game focuses on the survival instinct of the player and how he or she survives through a thrilling oceanic adventure.

Following are the top 5 tips that will help you on your journey that starts from a small plank:

5. backup plan for Food and drink

Jumping into the game, one of the first things you will realize is that your food and thirst levels drain quickly. To deal with this problem, you must build a plastic storage box and place the cups inside it till it fills up. Now you can use this stack of cups and keep converting it into freshwater with the Simple Purifier.

To craft a simple Purifier you will need 6 Planks, 6 Palm Leaf’s and 4 Plastic.

Doing this allows you to focus more on your surroundings and makes you worry less about the thirst indicators. Keeping in mind the thirst indicator, you must also focus on your hunger level. In this game, you will soon notice that no matter how much food you consume, your hunger indicator falls to a low level in no time. You will end up being shark's dinner if you don't feed yourself at the right time.

The tool that will help you solve this problem is a fishing rod. You must craft a fishing rod and catch as many fish for later. Gather enough material to create fishing rods as a reserve because the normal one breaks quickly. Another tip for pulling through hunger in the start is to chop down all the fruit trees you come across. These fruit trees help fill up your hunger as well as thirst levels.

You can get an Advanced Purifier later in the game via the Research Table.

4. Avoid Building on the Edge of the Raft

Constructing something on the raft's edge may be a risky move for you. You may face several shark attacks while navigating your raft. The shark will attack the edge of the raft and destroy the item on that tile. Getting rid of the shark would require you to hit it three times with your spear, and if there is nothing constructed on the damaged area, two planks will fix it.

3. Create a shark bait

Many handy materials are underwater that will aid you in your journey, but there is always a chance of a shark attack. To explore underwater without fearing a shark attack, you must create a meaty diversion for the shark - The Shark Bait!

Construction of Shark Bait includes two Ropes, two Raw Herring, and one Raw Pomfret. If you have plans to dive into the ocean, it's better to choose the shallow water near the shore rather than diving into the ocean's depth.

2. Equip collection nets on your raft edges

Gathering items using a hook is time-consuming and is not an efficient solution. Surrounding your raft with collection nets will guarantee the collection of materials that pass below the raft. Create a row of foundations to protect the materials in the collection nets from shark attacks.

1. Search shallow water around islands

As the island provides a great source of food through animals and fruits, the water surrounding the island can be of great use. You can find the following things in the coral reef surrounding the islands:

  • Metal

  • Scrap

  • Copper

  • Giant Clams

  • Clay

  • Seaweed

You can craft and throw shark bait nearby before diving into the shallow water to help prevent a shark attack.
