How to make and use the smelter

Living on a Raft, floating by and surviving on the waters of the world often means the materials you find are raw and in need of refining. That is exactly why early days you need Smelters to ensure you can create better materials and ensure your progression and survival.

Smelter Raft Craft

making the smelter

To make a Smelter is pretty straight forward. To get yourself some Dry Bricks you will need to make Wet Bricks which are made from 2 Sand and 2 Clay. Once made you can leave them to dry on the Raft for 5 minutes and they will become Dry Bricks.

Dry Brick can also be researched using the Research Table, check out how to use the Research Table in-depth here.

Smelter Raft Complete

Now that your Smelter is crafted and ready on your Raft, you are able to access and create refined materials. To use it, make sure you have topped up the planks for burning, and then you will want to place the raw material into the top of the smelter, and the process begins. Depending on the material input, the output time will vary:

Metal Ore = Metal Ingot (80s)

Copper = Copper Ingot (80s)

Seaweed = Vine Goo (45s)

Sand = Glass (60s)

Explosive Goo = Explosive Powder (80s)

Titanium Ore = Titanium Ingot (120s)

Once the time required has passed, you can collect your new materials and begin building shiny goodies to make your Raft life that little bit more blissful. Maybe even make a dragon, perhaps.
